Hi. I had read somewhere that LCD screens could not have images burned into them so screensavers were just a waste of energy. Well... apparently that is not the case. I've got some shadows burned into my iMac's LCD from a desktop pattern I'd been using. Is there any way to get rid of the shadows or will I just have to live with it?

My pleasure.

I have now set my screen saver to come on at 3 minutes and the display to go to sleep after 8 minutes of inactivity to prevent this from happening. So far, it has worked out well.
