At work the G5, stopped burning DVDs... It burned four and then wouldn't let me burn anymore, giving me an Unknown error...
I tried many different dvd disks thinking maybe something was wrong with the particular disks.
I was using DVD studio Pro 3, and was burning thru that program then it stopped burning for no reason.
I then tried to do a repair disk and tried burning straight from the finder, this time just file info to a DVD.. items burned to the dvd... once... and then stopped (it still burns CDs fine).
The next day I altered the DVD studio Pro file and tried burning again... IT WORKED!! but only once. So now I have tried using Disk Utility To create a .CDR image to the desktop and then burn using disk utility... now it ejects the dvd and says:
"the device drained its buffer without burn underrun protection."
I have tried to Repair disk Permissions, Verify Disk Permissions, (from the disk utility as well as from the Mac OS X install CD)and I have tried restarting a thousand times.
I would think it was the brand of DVDs except that these have worked before... with the item I am trying to burn now as well as my last project...
When I tried the disk utility way at home on my G4... it worked fine... with the same disks that were rejected by this G5...
What can I do to make the G5 burner work?
DVDs and CDs still play fine... and CDs still burn... it just will not let me burn the DVDs...
please help (I have looked thru the other threads and have not found anything to help my problem... that I haven't already tired)
