Ok.

i downloaded a movie, and within the folder are a .bin and .cue files (along with some other .txt files) which from what i've read are the 2 files needed to burn to a dvd.

i have toast 7 titanium, and cannot figure out how to start burning to a blank dvd. i tried dragging the .bin and .cue files to toast, but it said they were unsupported format and could not be imported.

so what i did was...

In Toast, I clicked Copy at the top then clicked "Bin/Cue Files" in the tray on the left. Dragged the .cue file into Toast.

after i did that, i hit the red button to record.. it said "CD-Rom XA or Audio Tracks cannot be recorded to DVD"

i dont know if this helps, but i was able to view the .bin file on my computer with VCD.. but i cannot figure out how to burn the dvd.

please help!

(i have done alot of searching the forum and google and still can't figure it out. I also posted a similar thread in another section, but received no help! please help)

Dwanye Wade rules....btw

Anyway...

Sounds like you did everything right....so maybe the file is not compatible...

But, just to make sure,

Did you click on "copy" tab? And then drag the Bin into the field?

Or, did you try and right click the Bin or Cue file, and choose "toast it" ?

If those two options don't work, then the file may be incompatible with Toast, or Mac, or both....

still having trouble. there has to be someone who knows how to burn .bin/.cue files to a DVD

anyone?

Well, I know for me, a bin/cue is a disc image already, like a dmg..or a .toast file

So, how would you burn a disc image to a DVD? you would "copy" it in Toast right?

Can you "mount" the .bin and get a little cd/dvd icon on your desktop?

Maybe you can mount it with toast, and then save as a dmg, or toast image file...

That's how it should work anyway...

ok.. i finally got it to work.

i used a blank CD-R instead of DVD-R. why did it burn to a CD and not DVD? should i return the brand new 50pack of DVD-R i just bought and get CD-R instead? or will there ever be a time when i need to burn onto the DVD-Rs?

Bin/Cue the Video Format

Correct my if I am wrong and paint me a fool... but isnt the Bin/Cue video format different then the Bin/Cue disc image format? When you download a movie in Bin/Cue, you will need to convert it into MPEG, DivX and/or DV anyway so you can view it in your DVD player. VLC will play the Bin/Cue movie. You will need something like VisualHub or another converter to change the movie format.

Once you put the files into Toast as Bin/Cue don't you have to select the media you want to burn to in the bottom right. Next to the large Red Burn button there is a small drop down menu that defaults to CD. Click that and select DVD.

That a possible solution? And yes, keep the DVD's if you have a DVD burner because not everything you ever burn will be Bin/Cue Images (I would imagine).

i did that, put it on DVD, but once i hit burn.. it automatically switched back to CD. i think it may have done this because bin/cues are VideoCDs. who the hell knows

its ok, ill keep playing around i guess
