Burning CD's

Ok i've heard before the the mac's with superdrives can take a normal 700mb cd and burn a gig worth of data on it. I have both a powermac G5 and a Macbook pro but havent figured out how to do this. or QAS I told wrong?

I have NEVER heard that. i dont think that is even possible. With the prices of dvdr drives i would just buy one if you can. Why settle for 1gig when you could have 4.7?

They're probably referring to a process called 'overburning' in which areas on the outer edge of the disc is recorded onto, when they are usually not. This sometimes causes incompatibility, and doesn't gives such an enormous performance boost (not a disk that I have heard of). Since most discs are not exactly 650 or 700 megs , YMMV depending on what their actual capacity is. They are several apps that will allow you to overburn (or oversize) on a mac.
