Burning Dual Layer DVD's - +R or -R

I have some images I want to burn to dual layer DVD's on my i7 iMac.

Which type do I user, DVD+R or DVD-R.

Curious - What are your results? I've just made two coasters on Verbatim DVD+R DLs trying to write a movie (once using disk utility to copy and to burn and the other with writing the VOB in Toast).

Anybody else have succes in writing a DL DVD with the iMac core i7? My single layer DVDs work just fine (PCs, XBOX 360, etc.).

These two failed on the 360, other PCs, and even in the iMac itself!

Why dont you explain the difference and/or why disagree rather than saying "not accurate" which is obviously not helpful !!

There are several "major" technical differences between the two disc types, the main one being the way the disc handles errors.

So I'll rephrase my original post:

For best results use:
+ discs for data files
- discs for media

The two varients are merely different formats backed by different parties. However, everything I have read has favored +R over -R when it comes to capabilities

I am curious why you prefer (-) for media as opposed to (+) as I would lean for (+) in all applications

Considering DVD+R DL media is pretty much all I can ever find, that's what I use and have never had problems.

I don't think I've ever seen DVD-R DL discs in a store. Heck, even NewEgg only has one selection for DVD-R DL media as opposed to 36 with DVD+R DL.
