Burning MOV files to DVD on a PC - what is best video format so can be viewed on Mac?

I'm in a quandry. I'm here on the west coast with my Dell PC, and I'd like to burn several MOV video files to a DVD and send it over to my friend in Florida - who owns a Mac.

What would you suggest is the best format to convert the MOV files to when burning to a DVD? Should I convert to MPG4? Or is there a way to burn Quicktime MOV files direct to a DVD?

What files (DVD format) can one make on a PC that are viewable on a Mac?

I'd love to hear your suggestions. Thanks for all your help!

As .mov is a container created by Apple to be used for the QuickTime framework and QuickTime Player and which has been around at least fifteen years, it is safe to assume that your friend's Mac will be able to read those .mov files, unless it uses some very, very rare codec s/he doesn't have.
Therefore the best way to transfer the .mov files to your friend would be burning the .mov files to a data DVD, no prior conversion is necessary.
What DVD burning software you use is up to you and what came with your computer, maybe it is Ahead Nero Burning Rom, but whatever it is, the help of the DVD burning application you have will tell you how to burn data DVDs readable by Mac OS X.
