When looking for long term (20-50 years) options to store my home made family movies (using iMovie app on my Macbook Pro), I realized that having 3 external hard drive copies, 2 Seagate and 1 G-Drive, (AND having them on google photos.com), it's still is NOT a guarantee they won't be lost. I came across an article (will provide the link below) that suggested to store valuable data on optical disks: DVD-R and M-Disc B-DR.

I will be using a Samsung USB 2.0 Ultra Portable External DVD Writer Model SE-218CB/RSBS

Which optical disk do you guys use? Can you please provide a link to amazon?

Here's that article talking about the longevity of optical disks:https://www.pcworld.com/article/298...edia-and-methods-for-archiving-your-data.html

I was considering this one:https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-M-D...kmr0&keywords=Milleniatta’s+M-Disc+DVD+R&th=1

How do I know if it's compatible with my DVD-writer?

Dunno if that samsung drive is M-DISC ready. Verbatim’s External Slimline CD/DVD drive is M-DISC ready, some versions ~$25

May sure you make a couple copies and store them in different locations :)
