Hello.
I'm invited on an Apple Hiring Event for next monday.
They said " Business Casual "
Can I wear blue jeans, black V neck T shirt and black Nautica Shoes ? ( http://i.pgcdn.com/pi/87/84/61/878461319_125.jpg )

EDIT: They said: " Feel free to dress business casual "

Do you have some advices ??

Thanks in advance =)

I'd go for blue jeans, a black turtleneck, and some white sneakers... you know, to show them you mean business :p

Business casual is more casual than business attire.

And nowhere in my post was normal business attire mentioned. A tie and sports jacket would be considered business.

OP: Wear what you want, but from my experience of hiring individuals that I requested business casual, that's what I would like to see them wear.

A lot of people will say "they don't care about your clothes", that's partially true, but it also shows what time of person you are and how well you listen...

Naughty! ;)

I'd suggest some nice trousers, a fairly smart shirt and neat shoes but don't bother with a tie.

It will be a lot about personality too, if the experiences of an old colleague of mine are anything to go by. They got in (as a Genius), and revealed that the work is okay, but that the work environment wasn't so nice//

And of course - think about three boxes you have. One contains only apples, one contains only oranges, and one contains both apples and oranges. The boxes have been incorrectly labeled so that no label accurately identifies the contents of any of the boxes. Opening just one box, and without looking inside, you take out one piece of fruit. By looking at the fruit, how can you immediately label all of the boxes correctly? :p

That's probably not a real Apple question, but it's purported to be one. ;)

I'll try to find a black Trouser and a Blue shirt + black dress shoes.
What are you guys thinking about it =) ?

If I remember, it's not just the one interview, there are multiple ones. From memory of a colleague who worked with Apple as a Genius, she found out quite quickly that they wanted her for more interviews - but the whole process to a long time.

Once sorted, she was put in for intensive training very quickly - though it was in preparation for opening the Sydney Apple store.

Keep your options open, apply for other things as well in case Apple doesn't work out.

I would dress to impress.. Where a nice pair of khakis, a nice button down shirt and black shoes. Don't wear blue jeans and a t-shirt.. for the love of God! Remember, the job market still sucks and a hiring manager at any time can skip over you if he so pleases..

Hello ! I went at the 2nd Interview and I talk to a man for about 45minutes.
He said that they are going to email me later for a background check.

Am I close ?

What did you wear?

Either: Red speedo thong bathing suit, sunglasses, flip flops, and a drink in one hand.

Or business causal:

Slacks, dress shoes, button up shirt with a belt and tie is optional.

I'm assuming it may have been the speedo that you went with so they decided to run a background check on you. :D If there running a background check on you, your ahead of everyone they turned down so far, but in the pool of candidates that they are considering. So you don't have the job yet but it looks good so far.

Yes, you are close.. Mind me asking if you are comfortable with 10 dollars an hour retail job? I was just wondering as everything is getting more and more expensive in this county and the cost of living is going up and not sure if 10 an hour would be enough income for you.

Well, i'm currently 18.
Just living with my family, not paying rent or fuel for a car.
So this job is just for.. fun cause I really want to work for them.
Next year, when I'll need some money, ( If they take me ), I'll ask them if I can get a job that pays more ( Genius .. )
And I think it starts at $12 ? no oO ?

did you ever hear back?

I think I went to the same hiring event you did ("Valley East" in CA?) and had a similar experience of two interviews then an email for a BG check around the same time.

Did you ever hear back from them? I filled out that form about a month ago and still no word. I know they've been busy with all the product launches and the passing of Steve, but it would be nice to at least have an idea of where I'm at!
