So for the past two months I've started to use butter on my toast instead of margarine, and I can't imagine how I went all those years without it!

Our family used to use butter back before margarine was recommended over butter. Now we're going back to butter, and I can't believe what a difference it makes on something as simple as toast.

So what about y'all? What do you guys spread on your toast?

You win the most random poll of the year award.

It might seem trivial, but it makes a huge difference. Only after butter deprivation does one realize how much one has missed. ;):p
I recently switched to butter as well. I, too, am thoroughly impressed.

Isn't it much better? Plus now we don't have to worry about transfats. :p

Butter = sexy, intelligent and caring woman who works as a supermodel in-between her work as a cancer researcher.

Margarine = second-hand blow-up doll with a slow leak.

You decide.

Unsalted butter has no rival. Scrumptious. Margarine is simply no contest whatsoever.

For a comfort-food breakfast absolutely nothing beats a piece of toast with melted butter, cinnamon and sugar on it. Margarine would be a foolish substitute.

Leave the stick of butter out at room temperature for a little while and it will spread as well as margarine, also.

I literally lol'd at that. :D

Except of course salted butter. ...Salt makes everything taste better. :D

I only like salted butter on bread...not toast or anything else, though I grew up with sweet butter so it could be that I've just been conditioned that way.

You can't have toast and Marmite with margarine. Just doesn't work.

Rachel's Organic Slightly Salted for me, and lots of it.

I usually eat margarine, and I notice no taste difference between it or butter (seriously).

Butter butter butter but be careful

Butter gets the thumbs up for me also , but we have to remember our cholesterol levels a little to much of a good thing can be bad. But all the same butter is far far nicer on toast than boring old marg :D

I'm an Unsalted Butter eater.

Look at it this way:

Leave a stick of butter outside overnight and next to it a pot of Margarine...

Let's just say I trust insects when it comes to good food ;) not one will touch the marg. It's plastic, fake tasting yuk.

Both actually. They have their uses. Butter for potatoes and such, Margarine for cooking in, and that, the No Transfat version then. My butter use is reduced these days.
