Just in a bit of a dilemma..

I have a chance to buy a mint 2011 mac mini with dual screens, apple wireless keyboard and mouse for $600 all together.. Works perfect no issues..

Or hold out for the base model new mac mini that will be $599 without taxes from the get go and i'd still have to buy monitors a keyboard and mouse..

Better just to get the 2011 and upgrade ram & possible ssd?

If those are good screens (I'd say 21" 1080p or better) go for it, if not, it may be better to wait, although the base model won't see a significant upgrade (if you don't need USB 3.0 and the HD4000).

Chances are, if you are buying a Mac Mini, the slight performance increase from the current model to the new one will not benefit you.

What I believe it comes down to is, do you need USB3? If not, this deal is very good.

The monitors are really nothing special. However, if you buy the new Mini with a relatively decent 24" display, Apple mouse and keyboard you'll pay about 850-900 for a more future proof, imho more comfortable set-up.

If your budget is very limited, you're probably better off with this deal.

Seems like a pretty solid deal, but it entirely depends on your needs. Will you benefit from the upgrades graphics chip and faster processor, or will you just be using it for standard tasks?

If so then this is quite a nice deal!

Could you possibly wait until the new model is released to make your decision? I think that would be the best thing to do so you can see how much they actually change the mini.

It's a good deal. You can probably get $75 for the two screens if you don't want them. I'm looking for a Mini as well but I'm likely going to order the refurb. model and save about $80. Don't need anything else.

The online store is chock full of refurb minis now. Though their prices will drop even lower next week when the new ones come out.

Ostensibly that's a good deal, but it doesn't hurt to wait and see what Tuesday will bring.

I'm currently waiting to see what the new Mini will be like as well. I received my new MBP in the mail yesterday, but I'm afraid to open it as I might return it. If the new Mini has some good specs then I might just get that and save myself $400.

You can also send it back if you already used it.

The 2011 2.3 mac mini often shows up on cowboom for $399.

Several people have found their serial was never registered and got the full twelve months of applecare.
I got the 2.5 for $499. Only 10 months of apple care was left. <--not that i'd ever use it.
