I want to buy the white iPhone 4 once it comes out.

My current understanding is that all I have to do is walk into the Apple store, shell out the $500 to buy just the iPhone correct? No contracts, no nothing correct?

Depends on which model 16GB or 32GB but...It is going to be more than $500 full retail.

16GB black model on Verizon alone retails for $649.99
 
Are you in the U.S.? I thought that in the U.S. you had to sign a contract even when paying retail price, at least for AT&T. I have no idea what Verizon is like.

:eek: Sign a contract and pay full retail?!?! That would be crazy. I hope they changed that policy

No, you can buy it full price without a contract now at the Apple store, best buy etc...
But the GSM version is still locked to AT&T and CDMA to Verizon.

If you pay full price, then you won't need to extend your contract. However, it would be cheaper to do an "early upgrade" which would extend your contract. It's up to you.

iPhone 4 16GB MSRP: $599
iPhone 4 32GB Early Upgrade: $449

(add +100 to each of those prices to reflect the 32GB model)

I would personally go the early upgrade route.
 
Is the white iphone4 not out yet?

Is anyone around right now that could look at a pic and tell me if it looks weird? I want to buy a used iphone, I've been looking on 'kijiji', there's one I'm interested in... but it seems to have a piece hanging out at the bottom or something, and I don't see it in any other phone pics.

There's many people that converted their black phone 4's to white by purchasing white aftermarket conversion kits online and just taking the phone apart and replacing the parts.
The white i4 from Apple is not out yet but they're saying within a month.
I dont think white would be feminine or just for females, if it was pink I could see it.
 
Don't know how to grab a pic from the web and make it a pic on my hard drive.

Looks like something coming out of the bottom of the iphone4 where the usb cord goes in.

Don't want to buy a fake or a tampered-with phone.

Guess I could post a link.

PS, I'm not a guy, and I think the white iphone4's are beautiful.. but just wondered from a guy perspective if a guy would be seen with a white one
