Buy Apple Care after Best Buy purchase?

so i bought my iPad at best buy last weekend. the past week I've had wifi issues -- iPad disconnecting from network and/or forcing me to re-enter the password. a bit annoying.

can I walk into an apple store, buy the apple care, and use it on the spot to get a new one due to the wifi problems? if i even try to return this to best buy, they'll want the 15% restocking fee. ugh.

Actually, you get coverage under warranty for a year, and if you buy Apple Care you get an additional year.

Apple Care

Apple Care would defiantly get your iPad serviced but so would the existing 1 year warranty, will they just give you a new one no, or at least no the first couple of trips, Apple will try to make repairs to all of their hardware 3 times before they just hand over a new one to you and even then a refurb is more likely than new. Apple Care is a great program for years 2 and 3 but it doesn't make year 1 any different. I recommend that you buy Apple Care it has saved me a few times, it also transfers with the item when sold so the used value of an Apple Care covered item is a lot better. And you can buy Apple Care at any time during the 1st year.

You already have a 1 year warranty with any apple product you buy that you can take in to the genius bar for troubleshooting, repairs, etc. At any point up to one year after you purchased (regardless of where you purchased your device) you can extend the warranty for an additional year by purchasing AppleCare. At the apple store they said that the policy with iPad issues is to just send a replacement so you can call AppleCare and they'll ship a new one to you which you then return your old one after you received the new one. This is nice if you dont have time to go into a store or live too far. Also the battery replacement program will actually cost $107 (which is included while you have AppleCare). The decision is yours on if you want to continue the support but it's nice to know you're covered for a year while you decide if you want to shell out the extra money for AppleCare.
