I am mostly using the tablet for gaming, web browsing and reading books. I already have an Air 2 so will the 12.9 make for a bigger upgrade? I have used both but I don't know if I will be able to manage the weight of 12.9 while reading in bed? Thoughts?

I can't speak for the 12.9, but the 10.5 feels very comfortable. I feel like if it was a little bigger it would be hard to hold.

I think you will find out to graduate from the 9.7 to the 12.9 is a fairly large iPad. Especially if you are leery of the fact of how large it already is, it will be a shock to you at first. I would suggest the 10.5. Slightly larger and yet is not too cumbersome for your situation. Also, if you decide to go with the 12.9 iPad, you would at least have 14 days to return your item, assuming you purchased it from a retailer or Apple.

Do you know if its noticeably heavier than the 9.7? Is it tiring to read on? Coz when I got my Plus iPhone I was kinda shocked at its size but now I cant handle anything less than 5.5. Big screens are nicer to look at

The 12.9 wifi weighs in at
  • 1.49 pounds (677 g).
The 9.7 Air 2 Wifi weighs in at
  • 0.96 Pounds (437 g).
To me, that is noticeably heavier than the current 9.7 Air 2 you all now.

Also, you mentioned about is it tiring to read on. One feature that the iPad Pro has that the Air 2 does not have, is Tru-Tone display, which uses ambient light sensors to measure the lighting/brightness conditions in your environment and adjusts to the white point and illumination on the display, making easier on your eyes to read.

Depends how you hold it.

In bed for me I switch to the Smart Cover and just prop it up when reading stuff. If you are holding it on your own you can do that but maybe balance it on your knees.

I went from 9,7 to 12.9 yesterday and yeah it's an adjustment but when you are using the device you will love the extra screen.

But weight wise, the 12.9 Pro is much more over the 9.7 Pro. Even when propped, it makes it difficult. I think the OP should consider the 10.5. It's easier to manage.

If gaming and reading is somebody's main usage then would say the 10.5 would be better.

If your web browsing isn't as major then smaller would be better for those tasks

Thanks for the help. I will get the 12.9 then.
