I have these devices: 6s+
1st Gen IPad Pro (2015) 12.9

6s+ is 1 year old, 99% Battery, mint.
IPad Pro 1st gen is 2015, 92% Battery, slight crack

I could afford both, but it would be a juggling act and I am clutzy and work on a floor and am afraid I will drop the phone. The usual people who release cases like Zero Lemon and Mophie haven’t released one yet. I am a heavy user and get 4 hours max battery on 6s+ even with charging. My carrier is offering 300 off the phones right now and I could pay in installments on both.

I want the iPad really bad, but I have saved all year, and have seen 3 opportunities this year fizzle. Rumors have been aplenty, but no action.

Do you mean an iPad Air 1st gen?

The 6S isn’t bad and with iOS 12 it is improved.

The new iPad Pro based on rumours looks great so of this years devices I’d want the iPad.

Depends on which you need more. Considering your ipad pro has a crack and less battery length, i’d say go with a new ipad pro. You can always add the iphone Xs later once the cases are available. You just seem to really want to update your ipad pro more. So go with your gut.

i am sort of in the same predicament, but my ipad is even older than yours, and has MANY cracks on the screen, so i am going with a new ipad pro for sure. From all indications, they should be coming out in a few weeks sometime in October. So not much longer to wait.

I know the iphone Xs is available now, so it’s tempting. But again, go with your gut. The iphone Xs would be a significant update to your iphone 6, but it’s a modest “s” upgrade from last years iphone x. The upcoming ipad pros however will be a radical redesign. The most significant update to the ipad pretty much ever. To me, thats much more exciting and worth the wait.

I think @Greenmeenie already provided excellent advice. Get what you use the most or what inspires you the most.

Example: I use my iPhone 8 Plus for music and audiobooks when commuting, and to send a few messages during the workday. My iPad is the main computer as soon as I arrive home it will be in my hands for at least an hour at home, so for me an upgraded iPad would be much more noticeable than a new phone.
