Buy AirPods + AirPower + Beats Studio3 + LG UltraFine 4K monitor

Or

Trip to San Francisco/Cupertino (from Europe)

I wish I could afford the three all at once but I have to choose one.

I'm happy with the iPhone 8 except for the camera quality in low-light conditions. It's terrible compared to the Note 9 for example. Not sure if Apple will address that on the new iPhone.
 
The crappy low light photos won't change until Apple doesn't increase the size of the camera sensor. The sensor size has been the same since the iPhone 6S. There is a limit to what software can do.

To answer your question, I would get the XS if the camera sensor size is increased ,and the camera is significantly better that the X. If not, and you like the design/form factor of the X, then get the 6.1" LCD model. This is what I plan to do(I have an 8 too). I don't need the airpods or the monitor or the vacation, but that's me. The best option is to stick with the 8 and save money for the future (2019 iPhones or something else). Those are my 2 cents

I don't see much improvement in the camera side even with the Xs. Take your trip!!!

I flew for a work trip from Los Angeles-San Francisco not too long ago. On the way up, I looked out my window and saw a huge white round building amidst a community. I knew it was Apple Headquarters and I was flying right above Cupertino. It was cool seeing it.

Everyone's different. You're getting the 'travel' answer from a lot of people, but for me I'd pick the iPhone Xs. Travelling doesn't do anything for me, i'd rather have material things. By not going on many vacations over the past few years i've probably saved $15-$20K, which is money that i've been able to spend on some amazing things that will last a lifetime (non tech-related things). You could say i missed out on a lot of experiences, but i don't think so. At least it doesn't bother me one bit.

Thank you everyone for your replies so far. I’m very materialistic - shopaholic if you wish - however I love to travel as well. It’s a very tough decision to make. I’m going to take everyone’s opinion into account.

Actually the iPhone is about twice the price. At the moment I can get a fare in economy for about 430€ roundtrip from LIS to SFO on KLM, Air France or British Airways connecting at AMS, CDG or LHR.
 
To Me, tech Euophoria is a limited experience and quickly wears once you actually have it, where you can actually make more memorable experiences with traveling, especially abroad coming from Europe to the States.
