Ok so I got my code and it's saying that my code has been used already and will not work.

Seeing as this is effecting multiple people but NOT the people buying the software, I'm thinking about buying it and then asking Apple to credit my app store account with a full refund.

Good idea?

Sounds doable, but they can technically refuse to give you a refund since you bought it normally.

If you want to take the risk, I would do it and then call Apple customer service.

No.
Just have patience, Apple have said new codes will be sent to those with problems.

When you ask for a refund then what if they remove the update from your App Store list of purchased items? Then you end up with nothing.

Not usually a good idea, as they have a "no refund" policy. That being said, I did that when Lion came out because I didn't remember I was entitled to one and they did refund the money.

They are aware of the issues with the program and are working to resolve them.
