Buy new MBP or wait for MBP with Mountian Lion?

Hi all, so I had planed to buy my first Mac after having waited years and years to upgrade from my old laptop. What I would like to ask you all is this, is it better off to wait that extra 1 month until MBP ship with Mountain Lion installed on them.
Or would it be alright to just go ahead and buy now and wait for the free upgrade to come. I ask simply because I am worried as to weather or not there might be any problems or risks at all with doing the upgrade myself.

As for hardware and programs ect on the MBP being ready if I bought today to take full advantage of the next OS.

Go with Lion preinstalled Mac. If you buy Mountain Lion preinstalled mac and say for some reason you want to degrade to Lion it won't be possible.... hardware is same and upgrade is free... so why not now? Plus Lion has iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband in its package which seemed like removed in the upcoming upgrade

Thanks for the info, I was hoping apple might maybe optimize the new macs to use new OS. But it does not seem like any of my concerns were valid.

Any links you could direct me to so I could read as to why they would drop offering Garageband, iPhoto, and Imovie for free?
I'm sure there are other alternatives but truth be told as lame as it sounds Garage band was a real draw for me. I had hoped they would just release the new OS with the refresh of macs. The only reason I did not buy as soon as the website was back up with the new macbook pro retina, was the old OS still on it...

never heard of the iLife package being part of Lion it was always a separate bundle to buy and if you already have it on your Lion it won't go anywhere if u simply upgrade. the whole upgrade process is as simple as updating an iPhone. nothing gets deleted

I had iLife pre installed on my MBP late 2011. . . What I was saying is that i didn't see iLife included in the tech specs of ML. So I suggested him to buy mac now as iLife is included with the pre installed lion. Later he can free upgrade and still keep those as well

So that leave us with two possibility

1) They might include it when they roll out ML pre installed MacBooks
2) They might drop it.

So if the first happens to be true then you'll get iLife irrespective of whether you purchase now or then

BUT if second goes true you'll miss it if you go for ML pre installed ones..

That's because iLife isn't part of OS X, and never has been. It has, however, always been included with new Macs, which is why it was preloaded on your computer. This should be very simple to understand...

Sir I am sorry to say, you're misinformed.

You can indeed downgrade from a newer version of OS X if that particular model was released before the introduction of the newer version (with the exceptions of late-2011 MacBook Pro and the "NEW" old Mac Pro), although that will require another Mac. iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are NOT included with OS X, as they are iLife apps. Every new Mac comes with iLife preinstalled for free, and the apps are redeemable from the Mac App Store when you open it for the first time on the new machine.

You did not. Anyway, why wouldn't they continue providing iLife for free for new Macs? Photo Stream is a vital part of iCloud, which Apple heavily advertises, and can only be used with iPhoto.

Now I am not sure when you bought your first Mac, but post-Lion Macs all allow preinstalled iLife apps to be tied to an Apple ID (if you haven't, make sure you do that by going to the Updates tab of the App Store so you can receive future updates.)

People who use older Macs may still consider purchasing iLife, which is why it is still on sale.

I wouldn't buy my first Mac if it had just 1280x800 resolution in mid 2012. Buy if you can afford a Retina one or a 15" high-res or a Macbook Air which has slightly more pixels.

1280x800 is a cheap netbook resolution.

People who never upgraded to iLife '11 in the first place... My old Macbook that had Lion on it went through 2 iterations of iLife before I could get '11. I got another copy (the MAS versions) with my new MBP and I presume the next version will be paid. Who knows though.
