Buy Now, or Wait a Week or Two?

I am looking to buy the 11" 4gb MBA and because I'm currently without a laptop I am wanting to get one asap. This will also be my first mac ever so it goes without saying that I'm excited to get it.

I have heard from some people that in the past Apple has run a promo where they offer a free ipod touch with purchase around Christmas time. Others say that isn't true.

Has anybody heard of this promo in the past during Christmas time and if so, when do you think Apple will announce it?

... It's hard to wait but with a free touch it'd be worth it.

Only time I know they run this deal is during back to school time, I haven't heard of it during the holidays. They may have done it in the past when they were releasing the next-gen iPods, but they have just done that so I don't think its likely. Just my 2 cents though.

The Apple Back to School Promo is what you are referring to and offers a free iPod with a Mac purchase if you are a student, faculty, or staff member at an authorized educational institution. In the Northern Hemisphere, this usually runs from May-September, and in the Southern Hemisphere I believe it starts around April and goes till June? I haven't heard of anything during the Holidays/Christmas time (and I think it makes senses since sales are generally quite high during this time, without the need for extra incentives)
