I'm looking now to upgrade my 4 year old 6s to a plus size phone. I live in the UK and am intending to buy SIM free from the apple store.

The Xs Max is appealing but not it's price. Right now I'm comfortable with the 8 plus' price range. Is it worth buying the 8 plus now after trading in my 6s, considering that it's 2 years old already?

Or wait for the next iPhone to be launched which would mean lower prices on Xs Max? In this case how much is the price likely to be reduced to? Also, any idea if Apple will continue to sell 8 plus and offer a trade-in after Sept 10?

Thanks.

XS Max will be discontinued as soon as later iPhone Pro model comes out I guess. But either way, iPhone 8 Plus will receive a slight price reduction in 2019, making buying a new device more appealing.

I don't beliebe the price of the Xs Max's retail price will drop more than $50.
Regardless, you should wait. It's about a week from the event, nothing from stopping you to hold off a little more.

Thanks! Will Apple continue to sell 8 and offer a trade-in after Sept 10?

Yes-

The Max and all the OLED screen iPhones are not like the LCD screen on the 8. Many people can't look at iPhone OLED screens without developing vision problems or headaches. For others, they experience no problems. My advice is carefully try out an OLED iPhone either in a store or buy to return to see if it bothers you. Personally, I can't get near those flickering iPhone OLED screens.

Wait till September 10 th and see the price of the 8 Plus or XR. Or you can consider the regular iPhone 11 (which is the successor of the XR).

I ordered a iPhone 8 Plus 256GB, and a iPhone 8 64GB for my wife.

The iPhone 8 Plus is a beast. 3GB ram, A11, and wireless charging.

I could’ve bought any iPhone, or android I wanted. Note 10+ 1TB, S10+ 1TB, XS MAX 512GB. I was seriously considering these options.

But in the end, I wanted the iPhone 8 Plus based on the fact it is a original design iPhone and the best iPhone ever made. It has plenty of life left.

9days of wait isn’t worth $200?

This is the worst time of the year to purchase an iPhone. Wait until the new iPhone announcement, and pickup the 8+ at a lower price.

OP: Do not purchase an iPhone right now. You're leaving money on the table.

And, while I'm inclined to agree with other posters, there's no way for us to tell at this time which phones will be sold when.

Thanks folks.. I'm intending to wait until Sept 10. My only concern is what models will Apple continue to sell after iPhone 11 launch and keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to offer the trade-in

I’m sorry but No it isn’t worth it.. Plus, how do we know that directly on the 10th we will see this discount? Are you 100% certain? Or is it more like next month we will see prices dropping?

Also, I received (2) $300 dollar credits for buying both phones. $600 total.

And, setting up with both of these phones will give me access to fast internet in my house with hotspot available. I have slow satellite internet available in my area as my only option right now.

Last but not least! I have a extended return period of 30 days, for any device I want if I am not happy.

Let me just say, it ain’t worth waiting! Not for me anyways.

For the last 11 years Apple discounted the the old iPhones at the day of September event. But other resellers do their own thing. Some have even now higher discounts

Yea the iPhone 7 is probably gone after September 10th. I have a nearly new iPhone 7 128GB in matte black. Still such a great phone, such a incredible device over a iPhone SE.

It is impressive what some of these older iPhones sell for on the used market.

About $300.00 bucks for a clean iPhone 7 Plus 256GB.

^ That is incredible for a 3 year old iPhone.

A new unopened unlocked model will go for like $375.00

Guys selling they’re mint iPhone 8 Plus models are knocking out about nearly half the price of the new iPhone 11
