Hi all

I've had 3 Apple TV's in the past. I took the last back to Apple due to giant list of bugs in V2.0. Can I just ask, have these problems been sorted out? The main problem was slow UI and stuttery video playback.

I keep going back to the Apple TV, although it has it's problems, it is the niceest media streamer I've come across. I've had enough of my PS3, it can't stream content for toffee and on hot days it sounds like a aeroplane.

So my next question, buy now or wait? Are there any rumours of a revised ATV?

Thanks.

Er..... of all the things that I've heard (and believe me that I've heard a LOT of weird ones) an Apple TV update is not expected.... so go ahed and buy one!

P.S.: SJ is well known for surprises!:apple:

Sorry in advance for my snideness, but what difference does it make what we say? Judging by your track record, you're going to find a reason to return your 4th AppleTV too. And 5th ... and 6th. Some people are serial brides, others are serial product returners.

I would wait until after the iPod update keynote which is likely coming in September. The apple TV has not seen a hardware update since its creation, and apple has recently published patents for both a DVR and a Wii-style Apple remote. I would wait.

As for the sluggishnes, version 2.1 is good, but the menus were never really smooth, due to the poor processor.

i myself am holding out. when they decide to let you stream dvds or .vob format, then i will pick one up. when they are able to stream .vob and do 1080p they will see their numbers sold go up possibly double.

anyone think they might do an update in september whilst doing all the iPods?Would be nice to see bigger HDs and give it a bit more power so it can do 1080p - I still can't believe that it can't!

Thanks, that made me chuckle!

Well I bought one yesterday (my forth one). 2.1 seems much better, very snappy. I'll definitely be giving the rentals a spin this weekend.

Well if they do bring a new version out I can always buy that for the living room and relegate my old (new) apple tv to the bedroom.

Thanks for the input.
