Confused why MR updated the buyers guide to "Buy Now". As far as I know no configuration changes were made other than the quad core removed? Does a price drop really warrant "Buy Now" status. This thing is 3/4 years old!
But they're not going to update it anytime soon, and Apple just updated it

Which has ZERO to do with the buyers' guides, no?Personally I think every piece of Apple hardware, possibly with the exception of the iPad Pro is a 'do not buy'. Apple no longer make things I want.

Actually, it is a good advice for a potential buyer. Soon it will be a collector's choice (an an antique) and its price will go up, once more.

Price drop, age, and value don't figure into it. The Buyer's Guide is very heavily geared toward whether or not you should buy based on whether or not a new model is right around the corner. (I.E. I need a Mac Pro, should I buy one now or wait because the next one is a couple of months off?)
Since we know that there is no new Mac Pro imminent, there is no reason to tell people to wait. Wait for how long? Over a year? If you need a new Mac Pro now or soon, this one is it.
Not so sure about that...but to each their own.
