just checked this out and its really strange...

to upgrade your mbp at the time of buying from 2 to 3 gigs costs:

£380

to buy a 2 gig stick after from apple costs only:

£240

is it me or is that really strange? Just thought id let you guys know!

Seems a bit odd to me that they don't sell the 2GB chips, since they are an option on the computers.

Ehh, I honestly don't see why they offer any chips at all. They are about 2x the price of most other retailers, but they use the same parts. (I believe they use samsung mostly). Shoot me if I'm wrong on that last part.

I just got a 3GB MPB... I was told by the local store that the 2GB chip is specially made to order in China - nowhere stocks them (at least across the UK) as the simply don't sell many of them. Searching for an equivalent chip in the UK though, I couldn't find anything that was that much cheaper for this chip...

Newegg and Crucial sell 2GB ram in both ways (2x1GB) and (1x2GB) sticks.

I know, I was going to buy some tonight but decided only on a one gig chip for my iMac G5.
