Hey there

Im mainly using FCPX, Lightroom and Photoshop - currently on my MBP 15“ 2017 with 16Gig of RAM - 512GB SSD.

Would you recommend to switch to the new MBP 13 with 16GB RAM performance wise?

Im not sure but what I have seen is really impressive -
Also with Canon Log files H265 seems very promising.

What would you do? I always need really good performance for my Video projects only concern is the 2 TB3 ports. But could switch to an good Bluetooth Mouse and use my TB3 SSD for FCPX.

Give me some recommendations:)

Ask yourself the following:

#1 - do you need to run Windows in any form on your Mac, whether via bootcamp or parallels or vmware?

#2 - is there any software you need to run that you've not yet confirmed works fine via Rosetta2

#3 - do you need to drive two external displays?

#4 - do you need the four-port model?

If any of the above are Yes, wait. Otherwise go for it.

None of those are necessary.

Only mentioning it performance wise if this would be a real performance upgrade but I think yes - so I will go for it

I assume you use an external display ?
If so, then the smaller 13" screen won't be an issue.

With my age, it is an issue so I will wait for the 16" MBP w/ Mx chip in the future as my 2019 MBP is still working (running hot all the time though)...
