Alright guys im buying a mac pro in place of my mac mini. Gonna be used as a server, heavy renderer and an HTPC at the same time.

Does it output 3d? I see hdmi 1.4, is it 1.4 1.4a or 1.4b
How well does it handle ( Heat wise ) the heavy loads /usage?

thanks!

As the HDMI port goes, I think it's a 1.4a , since the rMBP is 1.4a.

And as heat goes, I haven't heard anyone complain about heat issues on the nMP. The engineers have done a great job, the thermal core and the big fan seem to keep the whole system cool!

It does not output 3D.

We run our 12C under heavy workloads for many hours at a stretch doing major video transcoding jobs and rendering color sessions out of Resolve (the latter heavily taxes both GPU and CPU simultaneously), and the machine holds up fine.
