Buying a Mac with Windows OEM?

Hey, I see at least one vendor shipping Macs with BTO options including Windows installed through bootcamp or parallels at prices that must mean OEM copies.

Since technically you are buying a new system, can Microsoft claim OEM cannot be bought with a new Mac?

I would want the satisfaction of installing it myself, though.. ;-)

Doubt it.

The only thing is, apparently your not allowed to use Vista Basic on a Mac, which I think is a bit weird.

Actually, just to clarify, Microsoft has only said that the Vista home versions are not allowed to be run in virtualization software, such as Parallels. Since bootcamp isn't virtualization and is installing Vista in its own partition....everything is fine

Don't worry too much over the licensing. See my other post on the subject - I've spent considerable time on the phone with Microsoft UK Licensing on the matter.

What interests me more is whether the OEM license has any clauses other than "must be sold together with an essential PC component such as hard drive, RAM, motherboard, entire system" or other phrasiology.
