I was wondering if it is a wise choice to buy a macbook pro now?

or do I need to wait for a newer macbook pro?

Just upgrade it with a 7200rpm hard drive, it's well worth it. They're in stock now so there's not going to be much delay from the upgrade.

These things are amazing. Don't think about it too much. Now is a good time to buy.

If I wait til January, will it be worth it, or the mac is just going to be similar

very similar, and by then you will second guess yourself and want to wait till May/June when it actually gets refreshed...

depends. do you need a computer NOW? what size are you going for? I personally wouldn't purchase a 17" MBP right now because the screen seems kind of dim compared to most other screens as of late. Thats just me.

however, if you're using a windows pc, don't wait... just buy one. :p:p

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL JANUARY!!!!! Are you kidding? You'll miss out on the Nano and printer deal, and you'll have to deal with getting rid of your old computer inbetween semesters. Don't do it. Just buy now and be happy with it. It's already an amazing machine.

i think i agree with you. jan. is a LONG time to wait... espically since they were just updated.

Well, currently I'm using a 5 and a half year old dell inspiron 8200. It lags hell and I'm taking Java class next quarter. So I think I need a new one and I'm thinking of trying something new.

Btw, Comparing dell and mac, which ones is more worth it if I'm into editing photos and videos, college stuff and movies.

you can't really compare a dell to a mac ;). I don't think your dell can do ANYTHING better then a mac.

You can get a non-mac, equivalent product for a lot cheaper than a Mac. For editing photography, movies, and music Macs seem to soar :p. You pay for the name, the local stores, and the support.

Exactly. The line was so recently updated. In fact, now is the perfect time to buy. Others have tested the water, and no major problems have surfaced (beyond some yellow screens). It's such a perfect time to buy, esspecially for students.

No you can't. Do a price comparison and see. Match processors, weight, and battery life. You'll see very quickly that most PC makers are pretty much the same (some more, some less) as Apple. The days of the "Apple Premium" have long since passed.

Ok.. apple user ego aside lol I mean equivalent internal workings. There are equals and way beyond. Are they bulkier? Yes. But they exist!

I'm dumb. Disregard anything I have said in this thread ><

Edit: Who in their right mind gets blue screened anymore? Thats for 8086 processors and family computers with 12 users :p Don't disregard that!

That's not true. But even if it was — what's wrong with this? I like support. I also like local stores. And I definetely like the "Apple" name more than other PC maker names. I don't see a problem here :)
