Hi,

I live in HK and from the Apple Store HK, it says I can buy a 3G iPhone that can be used with any operator.

Should I used Pwnage for QuickPwn? Any special apps that I need to install as well?

I am confused with the terms jailbreak and unlock. I want to have my iPhone installed with Cydia, so I can install other iPhone apps.

Many thanks.

QuickPwn is easier to use, so I suggest that. You should get Cydia with that, and that's all you need.

Jailbreak is basicly just 'hacking' the phone, unlocking is different. But the one you mentioned is already unlocked, so yeah...

Quickpwn as soon as you get home. Matter of fact, jailbreak it on Apple store display Mac.

I remember when jailbreaking can be done from safari (I think 1.1) and someone jailbroke the apple display iphones. That was funny as hell.

That's awesome! I wonder how many "when did they start coming like this" did they get in one day....lol

Sorry just saw other posts says Pwnage is to be used because QuickPwn would also update the baseband and would make the phone useless?

I'm also from Hong Kong and jailbreak my iPhone (firmware 2.2) with Quickpwn on Mac. It's easy and simple. Then i came to this forum and realize about the issue of baseband. I am still confuse if it will cause problem from the future. I am staying on 2.2 firmware cause i don't see the point of updating to 2.2.1

I've downloaded tons of stuff from Cydia. Winterboard, WeDict from Apple store but added plugins from Cydia, MxTube, Categories, iBlank, NES, Genesis emulator.
