buying a new iphone

today im planing on going to the apple store with out getting a plan. does any one know what firmware it will be on when i buy the phone? because i want to unlock/jailbreak the phone with t mobile?

The longer you wait the better the chances would probably be on getting the latest 3.1.3 firmware preinstalled.

you cannot purchase an iphone without also signing a contract and purchasing a plan. the only way you can get just the iphone without the plan is to buy it online, or win it online. such as ebay or craigslist. and no, apple and at&t's website doesnt sell it without a plan either.
