I know that its kind of a meme to buy an iphone in august as the new ones are less than a month away but my android has just broken and I'm using my old iphone 6. This phone is a bare minimum- has a terrible battery life, doesn't support gmail, spotify or instagram. currently in Australia (where i live) an iphone 12 and 13 cost around $1030 aud (for 128 gb) and $750 for an 11. I only want a 12 or 13 but should I get a 13 now for $1030 or wait a month using my 6 and see how low the prices are then. I'm fine to use a bad phone for a month if I save around $200 but will it really go down that much? I can use my macbook (connected to my phone) for calls and texts if necessary.

The good and the bad thing about iPhones is that they hold their value very well. I would say you could save around $100 extra if you was to wait a month. I would search locally to see if you can pick up one cheaper.

I think it’s fine to buy an 13. I wouldn’t get a 14 though given that the 15 is going to be released imminently.

Wait a month and get the iPhone 14 or 15. Both of those have 6GB RAM. I wouldn’t settle for anything with 4GB - iPhone 12 or 13.

Well, once 15 are released, 14 should take the current price point of 13 and 13 should go further down to the current 12 prices.
Yeah, good point. The OP should wait another month to save $100 on either the 13 or 14.
