I had a 21" 3.6 i5 with ATI 5760 512MB in my cart but they ran out of stock, so anxiously awaiitng the return.

However they also have a 27" 2.66 quad core i5 with ATI 4850 512MB for only $80 more.

Which would you guys choose?
I play x-plane 9, a few games in windows 7 boot camp, render videos in handbrake a few times a month.

Thanks for any advice/feedback!

$80 is a bargain for everything you're getting more. I think its just worth the screen itself, but no, you also get faster specs. Dang, I'm buying refurbs from now on :)

I only got this laptop new for the free iPod Touch. ;)

What about that the 27" is october 2009 model and is 2.66 and the 21" is july 2010 model with 3.6?

i7 = 2.66 Ghz, 4 physical cores (8 virtual - total)
i5 = 3.6 Ghz, 2 physical cores (4 virtual - total)

It really depends what you do. For me, either or is fine. I think the i7 would be faster though, especially for encoding stuff since it has more cores.

Keep in mind you get a bigger screen, and a better video card. I think the i7 is faster, but won't be noticeable in your uses.
