I have a dual 1.8 G5 powermac refurbished and i have not had a problem with it.

Only shame is that it comes in a different box T_T a boring brown box that says refurbish apple product on it.

I have not owned one personally, but I've heard nothing but good things about them. In fact, some people think that they're better than new machines because they've been gone over individually with a fine-toothed comb.

They come with full Apple warranties and are eligible for AppleCare, so they can be a very good deal.

how many times will we have these threads? Refurbished Macs are a good deal. A great deal if you're cheap (Like Me!) and they are on par with the new products

Just adding an echo... everything works just fine, not even a scratch on the unit. It just came in plain brown box.

All manuals and components were included and in the usual sealed plastic packaging.

also from what i hear some refurbished come with more in it if they were just send backs. You may get an upgrade from what you bought

My refurbished powerbook came in the original packaging, and even the wires were tied up in little twisties and in little sealed plastic bags. In other words, the thing was new, and I was (and am still) happy :D

i bought a ipod(15gb) and a G4 ibook from the apple refurb site. Both came in plain brown boxes, but had all the manuals, cables, cds, etc in individual bags. When i bought my ibook last january it was the same ibook 14" that was on the retail website. But on the refurb site it was about $250 less, good deal if you ask me :) Looked brand spanking new, haven't had any problems with it.

'sup refurb buddies!

I'm a pround owner of a duel 2.5 Powermac and I've never had a single issue with it.
Mine arrived in it's original box, with all new accessories and instruction book. Only thing re-furb was the powermac itself. I bought just as tiger came out, so 10.3 was installed, but I even got a 10.4 disk inside the box!

Anyway, had the system for a while now (see my sig) and haven't had a problem. I reccomend Refurb all the way.

In fact, when it comes to the intels, I'll probably wait for the refurbed powermacs before I leap over.

Can anyone lend some insight on what I can expect from a Apple refurbished computer. I already have a PowerBook and im looking to put a iMac or Mini in my home. Can anyone give some advice on the quality and how well these preform.

Just picked up a mini refurb, it came in a hooge refurb box but was in mint condition. So far its not put a foot wrong.

Very happy with it!

I dunno about all y'all, but I kind of like boxes that don't scream MUG ME!!!

I also don't use white iPod headphones, but that's just because they don't feel good to me.

Nice side benefit, though!

I've only heard good things about refurbs which is why I'm definitely buying my ipod refurb and if the mbps go refurb soon enough I'll buy that refurb as well. Especially since the ipod I have to buy myself, though the mbp is a present for my graudation.

I have never owned a referb from apple but have oonly heard great things. However sometime there will be minor scratches (preticulary on iBook).

Good Luck

I purchased a dual 2.0 power mac a few months back, it was doa. To Apples credit they took great care of me, I shipped it back and they sent me a brand new power mac because of the hassle. I just ordered a refurb ibook without hesitation. I think my doa experience was the exception rather than the rule. If you do have problems (which I doubt you will) Apple will take care of you.
