Hopefully this is a good idea to combine this request into 1 post. I'm looking for 2 items...

I'm looking to buy one of those presenter remotes to advance powerpoint slides. We have a thing coming up at work where we'll have several employees present but I'd like a pretty good one to keep for myself. I'd like it to work with Windows and macOS and have a USB-C dongle if possible.

The other thing I'm looking for is a USB-C to Micro-B (the longer one with 2 little sections). I checked my normal cable sites like Anker and Monoprice and they didn't have any. There are lots of off brands on Amazon. I need this for a Time Machine HDD and just want to make sure I get the right cable. For example, I have an Anker USB-C to USB-A and that is not working at all for another HDD. It does work to charge though.

I like simple tools that do what I need. There are some great options out there, but often with way more buttons and complications than I need.

I use an inexpensive DinoFire remote from Amazon. It has a reversible USB C/A dongle and does what I need it to which is to advance slides. It has a built in laser pointer, will control volume and may have another feature or two. I can easily move anywhere in a large lecture hall and not have connection issues.

Previously I used the Keynote remote on my phone but was limited in range. I haven’t checked to see if my 13 mini offers better range than my old original SE.

All that said, I really do miss the IR sensor on Macs and the old IR remote.
