Hi all,

My cousin is considering getting a new iMac, and he's not sure if he should go with the $1199 model that comes with an Nvidia GeForce 9400M or the $1499 model that has an ATI Radeon HD 4670. He's going to be doing a lot of video editing with Final Cut and Motion, and not so much 3D gaming. But perhaps some 3D modeling and animation.

Is it worth the extra $300 for the ATI graphics card, or will he find that the Nvidia card is good enough for what he wants?

Thanks a lot.

What sucks is the 4670 is a cheap card. 300 dollar upgrade? Highway robbery. I just bought a 1 gig version of that card for a PC for....59 dollars. A good 1 Terabyte hard drive is 100 dollars. so 50 more than a 500 or so? So for a 100 dollar upgrade, you are paying 300% the cost. Shameful.

That said, I guess you should go for the 4670, as it is dedicated and it is better. But you should be pretty mad about it.
