Hi, is anyone here using this mouse? I am planning to buy this one for FPS gaming and Photoshop. But my major concern is compatibility with Lion. I am sick of my current Chinese mouse

Like most mice it's pretty much just plug and play...
Avoid Razer's drivers, becuase the mac versions are horrible and mac support from the company is almost non existent.
So you can't use it under OS X? I mean configuring sensitivity, mapping buttons, etc.? If so, then, it sucks. I don't have Windows![]()
You can, but the tracking speed gets reset every single time you reboot the machine and it's really annoying. Furthermore I don't know about Lion support. Personally I removed the drivers from the computer some time ago.
It works great and i have been using one for 3 months now, there is even a seperate mac utility where you can adjust the dpi and sensitivity.
I have been using this Razer mouse for a few years to play WoW. Works great but it does reset mouse speed a lot. I use the Razer software to program WoW macros and key commands without problems.
I just got the Razer Mamba wireless for my Mac and it works perfectly. Only good for gaming and photoshop as you say, but I miss the new Lion magic mouse controls so the Mamba gets cast aside alot unfortuntately.
But anyway yeah it runs perfect, it has physical buttons to adjust the DPI which is great, don't even need to touch Lion's mouse settings. Not sure if all Razer mice have this though.
Just ordered, got it for $42. Should get it in 2-3 days.
OK, so I just install the driver and plug the mouse or do I have to update the firmware? I'm asking because I saw many posts about guys bricking their DeathAdders by updating the firmware![]()
You just install the software from here:
http://www.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view&parentcategoryid=137&pcid=24&nav=0,76,168,24
the mouse will work without the software as well but i like the fact that i can customize nearly everything like turn the light off,dpi etc.
The firmware checker is also included however the catch is that the updater is only windows so you have to do the update on a windows machine but i haven't experienced any big difference between the updated and not updated one.
