i have a Macbook with the 60gb hdd. now i would like to know peoples view on buying a 120gb (160gb hdd in Australia yet at good prices)internal hdd and buying a case for the 60gb, this option equal about 250$. the next is buy a external hdd for about 250$, which would give me 250gb (total 310gb) but needs external power source. the first option i can get 180 gb of storage and only need to use the macbooks power supply (60gb hdd case powered by fw400), great for travel which i do.

what i want to know form people who travel with a external hdd in your option is it a good idea to use the first option or travel with the second option.

if you travel a lot then get an external drive that's powered by the bus.

buy the enclosure, and the drive seperatly then build it yourself on newegg.

4 screws and 120 seconds = savings+++++++++

thanks i will be replacing the 60gb hdd with a 120gb hdd and using that in the external case
