Hi all,

I have sold my MBA revA and am considering buying my replacement RevB model (1.86 with 128 SSD) on eBay.

Assuming good seller and all, are there warranty issues buying a new Air from somebody other than Apple or something like MacMall? If I get a brand new, never opened Air from eBay and it has issues, can I take it to an Apple Store, can I get Apple care?

Thanks to anybody that knows the answer to this question.

You can verify the serial number on apple support website. When a 'new' mac is sold by an authorised dealer, they let apple know and the serial number is registered.

You definitely want a sales receipt if you're buy something labeled as new.

You have 12 months warranty from apple, plus you can get additional applecare warranty ( before your initial 1 year warranty expires ). So it does not matter where you buy your mba from. You can even get an used one and still use the remaining portion of that warranty.

Thanks for the answers.

I will have a receipt, but it will only be the ebay transaction receipt (and the PayPal invoice as well I guess), not from a store.

I am definitely going to get the Apple care as well.

Thanks again.

Hey all,

I got my new Rev B MBA and am currently in process reinstalling for small OSX footprint (no languages etc.), iWork, Office2008, etc.

I got lucky I guess, no screen lines.

The seller was awesome, and it was here in three days. Sadly, I was out of town and just got back this afternoon.

I paid $2100.00 shipped. Brand new, sealed in box.

So far it feels a bit snappier than my previous Rev A, 1.8 64SSD.

Lovin' it so far!

Back to updating and installing.
