I am close to purchasing my iMac and in doing so am now comparing my Educator discount price at Apple.com and ebay (after reading a mac mini post in this forum).

I found some great deals on imacs there. Would anybody suggest buying from a reputable ebat dealer. If so, can I still purchase Apple Care for it?

thanks AGAIN,

Lots of bad reports about some of the guys on Ebay. The one from Florida especially.

Look at AMazon.com. No tax, free shipping, reputable as heck.

Florida guy is slow

I've been watching the post on this guy and the only bad thing about him is bad communication and slow. everyone has eventually (10 to 18 days after payment) received their machines. A few have raised quite a stink, i believe they find the deal unbelievable. i went ahead and ordered one.

I saw that as well. But when I went to his online store, couldn't find much. Congrats.

applecare can be purchased for any mac, that is under 1 year old.

i bought mine off ebay, and saved £150, and the machine was only 5 days old!!

Just buy from the apple store online. You get a free printer. If you wait for the summer you can get an iPod too (or maybe the iPod is just for students).

I saw that as well. But if I were to purchase a new one at Apple.com or at an Apple store, I would get the educator discount and get an All-in-one at Best Buy. I would end up saving in the long run. Not to metion Apple Care would only be 119.00

A free ipod does sound tempting considering I am still using the original. :) However, I need a computer now as my pc laptop has malfunctioned and it will take me hours to fix it on my own

Just remember you can buy applecare separately.

I bought my iMac from eBay...I asked a million questions and made sure the seller was quick at responding and didn't seem shady...it worked out fine...I've had to get a couple of things fixed, but they are things that would have been there even if I bought it new...it's still under warranty so it worked out.

Buy an Imac on ebay?

i think the apple deal is just perfect with the educators discount.

peace
