K, think i'm gonna do it unless i get some clear evidence of an update...i'm gonna add a printer and looking at the Canon mx700. Is this a good over al printer? I read it does wireless printing, has anyone used it? Or, what printer do you guys suggest?

I've personally never used a Canon... but I've owned 4 or 5 HP's and they have all been really great printers. I'm not sure what is the equivalent model would be from the HP line. It all depends on who you ask... some people despise HP, while others will only purchase them. I have, however, read many great things about Canon printers. If they are as good as their digital cameras, then I would go for it.

Canon always takes macs into concideration when making their products, unlike lexmark... -.-

Anywho I've heard nothing but good things about canon printers!

I wish I could help you out... I had that printer sitting at my desk, but I had to return it because I couldn't get an iMac with a decent screen.

It got some pretty good reviews at Amazon and that's why I picked it.

I am in the same boat and am considering a Canon printer. Can you still get it for "free" with the $100 rebate? Is that still going on in the Apple store?

MX700 rates very highly in cnet.com reviews. I just bought the Canon MP610,
(minor refresh of the MP600 -- also with rave reviews from cnet and others).
Love it.

IMO, Canon has the strongest product line in $200-and-under (street price)
ink jets -- and they don't seem to have the chronic driver problems often
reported for HP printers in that price range (with both Windoze and OS-X).

...prolly shoulda kept quiet -- I own HP stock,

I use the Canon iP4300 printer. It seems to work pretty good with my iMac. It has 5 ink reservoirs and Costco has the set of 5 for $50 or so. The ink lasts longer than my old Epson. The printer rebate deal is still valid until March, I think.

Don't be surprised if the Apple retail store has a very limited selection
of printers. In my experience, there's very little chance they'll have
the one you want -- and they won't accept special orders on printers.

OTOH, the "$100 rebate" is really worth much less than that. You can
buy any printer from Amazon or Newegg.com for far less than Apple's
"regular price." I bought my MP610 from Amazon along with a Canon
camera 'package deal' rebate -- and it ended up slightly cheaper than
the Apple rebate (on a printer that the Apple store didn't stock).

...you pay for what you get,
