Hi All,

I dont know if this will be the same in the UK as it was in the USA but, when the iphone is released on the 9th of Nov in the UK its on O2 network. When you go to the O2 store to purchase the iphone (Which i believe will be £269) do you pick your monthly plan that you wish to go onto, instore, or do you select it through itunes?
If you select your plan through itunes, do you have a certain amount of time to select a plan from when you buy the iphone? or couldnt we just buy the iphone in the o2 store and not connect it to itunes untill your ready to start a plan, (Say if you wanna give it to someone as a xmas pressent) could they connect it to itunes, say, on xmas day and THEN select a plan that the person who you bought it for, wishes to connect to?

Many Thanks?

Mark :)

I also wish to know this but like, If i go into an Apple store on Nov. 9 and purchase an iPhone do i have to setup a contract or can i just purchase it and then go home?

If its the same as the US, you can walk into an Apple Store, pay for 270 quid and walk out.

Sign up for your O2 tariff through iTunes, whenever you want.

but that just seems sooooooooo easy, for people who want to just buy the iphone then just unlock the phone and use some other networks simcard in there?

Steve said at the conference that you "buy it still shrink wrapped" and take it home and do it just as the yanks do it. Personally, I'm thrilled. I hate those schnidey contract-setting-up-people. I however, love my iTunes.

Well, yeah, but imagine how long/inconvenient it would've been if everyone queueing up on iDay had to wait and sign up for a contract. Seriously, my current contract took like 3 days sitting around listening to them talk about my plan and blah, blah, blah.

true, didnt think of tha, lol, sitting there for 3 hours while they tell you how 1m text messages are better then 400 messages, "yes we know that!"
