Yes, I know that new models will be revealed this September.

But I'm also perturbed that there are reports of the SE3 having a plastic chassis, which I don't want.

So:
  • Does buying an SE2 seem like a good choice right now?
  • Or will I regret the price drop that I might get in 6 weeks time + the lack of 2 years of watchOS updates from this year onwards?
  • Do you all think that there will actually be an SE3?
  • Will the plastic chassis actually be a kids watch? Or might it just be a cheaper chassis option for the SE3?
  • Could we see series 9 sticking around at a lower price point instead of an SE3?

If it's a good deal, yes, I'd certainly consider it. Just compare it to the other models and determine whether it makes sense.

We can't tell you if you'll regret it. But if you keep your phone up to date (latest model) then it might make sense to do so with your watch too. Particularly with the AI release.

Yes there will be an SE3 at some point, almost certainly.

Not sure why it would be a kids watch. There have been plastic adult watches for decades and decades.

If you’re not in a hurry, by waiting till September you’ll have better options and better prices, and 2 or maybe even 3 more years of updates is an important factor to consider.

Thank you both - and I know I should wait really!

Even if I get the SE2 it's bound to be cheaper.
