Hi all,

I'm wondering if I buy a factory unlocked iPhone from overseas (maybe New Zealand or Canada when it is released there) can I bring it to the US and use a pre-paid AT&T or other network sim card with it?

I dont care about the 3G dataplan, I'll be using Wi-fi mostly neway.
Also if I chose to get an AT&T sim, will they force me to lock the phone with them and get an iPhone 2year contract plan (instead of a normal contract or pre-pay)? What if i dont mention to them that I'll be using it with my iPhone? It will be just like getting a sim card for any other normal phone right? (Though I might have to say to them: "I need a micro-sim sim card for my very special phone which specifically is NOT an iPhone" :p)

I dont want to be locked into a two year contract, as I want to be able to switch networks easily if I want. Also gives me flexibility to buy next year's iPhone without hassle :D. Also the resale value of an unlocked iPhone should be higher right?
