I am currently on holidays in a country where most Apple products are selling for roughly 20% less than in my home country.
For the 16” MBP I am considering buying it is exactly 550€ in absolute numbers and actually just insane.
Is there any drawback or problem when buying not at home? I guess the only issue would be the chargers and the keyboard layouts, right? But these might be chosen when bought online?

When you take the product to your country when you go back, I guess you have to pay taxes so I think the price is not much different.

550€ for a MBP 16"?

Sounds like stolen merchandise to me.

Oh well. You pays your money and then takes your choice...

Beside the already stated aspects like warranty and import taxes (considering you want to make a fully legal transaction!) there also may be implications regarding Apple Care, in case you think about getting that for your computer.

Being “in the same boat”, means living in a country where Apple products are significant more expensive than in the neighbor country, I learned one thing through the years: Yes, you may save some money purchasing such goods in another country where it is cheaper, considering (let’s be honest) your are not declaring the goods for importation and you may not want / need services like Apple Care or warranty. But it also can be that you pay more at the end of the day if not everything works out as planned…!

Therefore, since quite some time I buy where I live, everything is official and I have all the service I may need one day. But maybe that’s just me, an old-fashioned thinking…!
