Buying External Monitor for Macbook Pro 15".....

I am about to buy an external monitor for my Macbook Pro 15".
I am debating whether to get an Acer 22" wide screen TFT, or one of the new LCD TV monitors. They are quite cheap & LCD quality.
How will it be to do computer work on a 26" LCD TV monitor as opposed to a 22" Acer Flat Screen ??

You'll get 2 devices for the price of one with the LCD TV - I use a similar setup and it works quite well. When I'm not coding or posting here , the LCD TV is used to watch DVDs or acts as a proper TV
