Buying extra RAM for MBP 1.83 GHz

So I'm getting myself a Macbook Pro 1.83 GHz with the only upgrade being to a 7200 RPM hard drive. I'm planning on adding an extra 1 gb of ram. My big question is since most stores are still advertising the ram to be for either the 1.67 or 1.83, (see here: https://www.memorytogo.com/comp_modelsearch~famid~MacBook+~txtManufacturer~Apple.htm how do I know which to get?

And how do I know it will actually take it? One of my goals is to say to my die-hard windoze family that "my computer doesn't do that" when theirs crash. Plus, no more crashes is the biggest reason I'm switching. My nightmare is that my MBP won't like the memory I buy it.

Could someone help? Please?

Well for starters, the 1.67, 1.83 and 2.16 GHz machines all take the same RAM. It's DDR2-667 SODIMMs.

Then, you want to choose a reputable supplier who tests and guarantees compatibility with your Mac. The site you referenced does state compatibility. I don't know them, so I can't vouch for their reliability.
