My PC is slowly dieing (DVD drive crapped out today). My monitor is slowly dieing (takes 5-15 minutes to "warm" up - Samsung 191T 3 years old).

Anyway. Amazon.com's price on the 20" iMac is better than the EDU discount. Only problem is that you can't get it with 256mb vRam. I do a bunch of video editing and Adobe After Affects for school so the vRam is kinda nice. Plus once they get WinXP booting with video Drivers i want to be able to play CS:Source and HL2.

Has amazon ever been known to sell the upgraded models? My other option is to wait for back to school to come around and Apple to start offering the iPod +Computer rebates like they always do.

A 20" iMac without the 256mb video card is not a good gamin' rigg.

Well its still better than my current P4 2.0ghz w/ a 9600xt. But i think i will hold out for the 256mb version. Or maybe there will be something new and improved by this summer.

Unfortunately, no. Amazon only sells stock models. Personally, I don't think the VRAM is that big a deal. Even if you can get more, it has to be better than what you have.

I want a new iPod anyway, so i might just wait till August to see what comes out after WWDC and get the iPod rebate as well.

If you do buy from amazon, the nice thing about it is that there won't be any tax on your order compared to ordering it from apple.
