Other Buying from apple or through my carrier?

my wife and I are definitely upgrading to the max, we’ve had our 7 plus for 2 years now. I’m just wondering a few things.
1. What is a better route to take (know I g that we will keep the max for 2 years and fully pay it off), ordering through our carrier or directly from apple? We will both get apple care+ If that makes a difference.

2. What do you think makes more sense, trading in the 7+ or selling it on swappa?

1. Wouldn't make a difference where you get it from. Carriers often have trade-in deals as well.
2. If carrier trade-in offers are good, go that route, if not, Swappa/OfferUp/Craigslist... just not eBay.
