Buying from the Online Store (UK) with Finance

Has anybody bought anything from the UK Apple Store with Apple's MBNA finance? I ordered a new 20" iMac last week and sent the paperwork away for the finance on Thursday.

The order is still showing as "Under Review" meaning awaiting payment. Does anybody know how long it takes (from experience!) for the finance to clear?

We use MBNA finance where I work and the decision is instant. Sounds like there's a hold up with your paperwork somewhere.

Yeah, we got the decision instantly over the phone so I think we're just waiting on MBNA to release the money to Apple. I'll be calling this afternoon if the order status doesn't change.

Pah! I just rang up and they said it could take up to another 8 days - thats even before they start building my iMac.

So 10 days for finance to clear (instant in stores), 7-10 days to build (if I'm lucky) and another 7-10 days for delivery. That's easily a month - is that an acceptable timeframe?

I'm quite disappointed really - I could just go and buy one from a store straight away, the only reason I didn't is because I wanted the Wireless Keyb+Mouse included.

Ye i was thinking of getting my iBook with finance but on further inquiry i was told how long it would take and this put me off........Anyway its worth it if your happy to play the waiting game,

Why don't you apply for an Egg Money card instead ??? Then you'll get 10% cashback on your iMac.

I don't understand why Apple are taking this long to process it.

<blatent plug mode> If you came into our shop it takes us about 30 minutes to process a finance application, and if the decision is yes then you get the goods there and then. MBNA have committed and will pay us the money at some point in the future so why would we make you wait for that?
