Hi,

I live in Dublin and have been trying unsuccessfully to get my hands on a 3gs, they have been sold out for weeks! Today i noticed that they are available in the UK itunes store. i have family in England so i was wondering if it would be possible for me to get the phone delivered to their address and post it over? Would this work? Should there be any complications when connecting to itunes/unlocking/jailbreaking?

Thanks in advance,
Peter

i guess itll be fine but you need to register it once in UK form O2 store so that the phone is activated...

Don't do it. It will almost certainly come with 3.1, and you will not be able to jailbreak or unlock that. Jailbreak may come, but it might never be unlockable. Apple have really tightened things up.

If you have to get one now, you need to get one factory unlocked from Italy, HK, or somewhere else. Otherwise you'll have a very expensive iPod.

Thanks for the quick replys! I've just noticed that the 3gs is back on sale in the irish store. If its on 3.1 will I be able to jailbreak it? I wouldnt mind too much if I couldnt unlock it! Any idas when a jailbrek/unlock solution for 3.1 will be released?
