Other Buying iPhone + AppleCare in one country work in another?

If you buy an iPhone in 1 country with AppleCare, will it be eligible to be repaired in another country? (Assuming that the models differ in the two countries) Also assuming that apple won't repair it, or will charge full price, will they fix your phone if it has a different model?
