I bought an iphone from ebay on thursday and now (saturday night) I still having heard anything from the seller. I sent a payment through pay pal on thursday night (I got an email from pay pal saying it went through) but I haven't heard anything from the seller himself.

Did he recieve the payment? When does he intend to ship? I understand if he can't ship for a few days but i'm kinda getting a bit nervous as I haven't heard anything from him.

So you ebayers out there.... how long after an auction ends (and you pay) before you should hear any communication from the seller?

Oh and he has like 54 (100%) feedback from the other buyers... quite a few say "great feedback".

At the moment i'm tempted to say. "poor feedback".

What do you guys think?

i would give it the weekend before getting completely worried, especially considering the positive feedback (though remember, feedback isn't everything!). i've had many auctions where i didn't hear from the seller until the following monday; some people just don't check their email until after the weekend is over.

Depending on his location, wait until next Saturday to see if he responds. If not you can always file a dispute via Paypal and get your money back.

Two days and you are already alarmed? Don't let me sell you anything!

Give it time, or better yet... contact the seller?

Oh and looking at feedback:

Make sure its not all recent feedback, if so it could be faked.

Look at the actual feedback. If they have been selling candles and home make cookies and are suddenly selling a 50" plasma TV, well, red flag!

Two days and you're already unhappy with the sellers dispatch time. When i post things, i normally post them about 2/3 days after receiving the payment.

You'll more then likely receive in Monday or Tuesday, however, if the seller decides to post it Monday, you'll receive it Tuesday/Wednesday.

Ask the seller for a tracking number.

Give him at least a week dude! I get antsy sometimes, but seriously, just give him some time!

So the seller shipped the phone yesturday (how he did that on a saturday i'm not sure)

So you guys pay 600 dollars for an unlocked iphone... and you pay and 3 days later you still haven't heard anything... this is normal?

I'm not expecting him to ship it or anything. Just send a quick email saying: Hey got your payment, will ship in a few days. Thanks.

Is that too much to ask for?

I guess ebay just isn't my thing then.

hi, i agree with you, i too would be getting worried, i think in paypal you should be able to get a phone number from the guy (when buying my iPhoen from the US i had no contact for a week, and was getting terified, eventually rang them up and they said sorry... and sent $20 as an apology for late postage!!

can i have the item number?

You can post items on Saturday, though i doubt you'll receive the iPhone on Monday. It will most likely arrive Tuesday now.

i agree with the others here - i think you should re-adjust your expectations on this being a bad seller because he/she didn't email you right away after you sent payment. wait until you've received the iphone to the do that.

shipping on saturday is normal - in the u.s., post offices, fedex, ups, and dhl are all open on saturdays.

in my auctions, i state that i ship within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment. i do acknowledge payment with an email indicating when i will ship it. and then i follow up with a second email to give them the tracking number after i've shipped the item. i don't say that i communicate like this in my auctions (i simply do it because it's how i like to be treated when i buy something) and i'd be pissed if a buyer left me negative feedback if i shipped on time and gave them an item in the condition exactly as described and they were just mad that i didn't email them enough. that's totally unreasonable - for the sake of all good sellers out there, do stay away from ebay if this is the way you look at it.

Buy an iPhone from me!

I ship within 24 hrs (unless its sunday)

I also send tracking number!

Jk. You don't have to buy from me.

But just wait a cpl more days and then file a dispute with paypal.

PayPal is awesome for buyers and could be used to potentially scam some sellers.

Well I since I did hear from him and its all good, I will give him good feedback. (assuming the phone arrives in good order)

Like I said... perhaps ebay isn't for me. I'll stick to my amazon.ca's and my brick and morder stores...
